Hearthside Receives Grant for Sign

First term State Rep. Mary Ann Shallcross Smith presented a check to Friends of Hearthside for $400.  The grant was made through an appropriation from the 2008 Legislative Grant Program of the R.I. House of Representatives. 

Friends of Hearthside plans to have a professional sign system produced which will be visible to all who travel past the house.  The sign would be designed to allow for interchangeable messages to announce special events, tour dates and times, and contact information.  The legislative grant will help provide a portion of the funds needed to develop the signage.

With some 16,000 cars a day traveling by Hearthside along Great Road, this offers us a wonderful opportunity to promote this unique historic treasure and its availability to the public for viewing.
